Welcome from the Chairman

Hello I’m Tres Wittum, State Chairman for the Tennessee College Republican committee.

Politicians and their communities often overlook college students. They are viewed as unreliable and uninvolved locally, state wide, and nationally. However, here in Tennessee we are about to change that perception. The Tennessee College Republican committee has been working to create a strong network by uniting our campus chapters and creating strong coalitions with our Republican leadership and other Republican organizations, throughout Tennessee.

As a new generation of Republicans, we believe our party must once again be the party of ideas, not identity. Historically, the Republican Party has been one of personal responsibility, fiscal responsibility, free enterprise, strong national defense, and limited government. These values always brought America through the toughest of times and kept our nation the greatest on earth. We need to get back on track and hold our elected officials accountable to these core Republican principles so our nation can move forward.

The Tennessee Republican party is on the brink of history. In 2010 our party plans to maintain majorities in both chambers of the state legislator while also taking the governor’s mansion. This success in 2010 will allow us to redraw the gerrymandered lines in our state, keeping Tennessee the color red for years to come.

The Tennessee College Republicans will play a major part in that success by supporting strong principled Republican candidates, and most of all, getting out the vote.

We understand we are Tennessee’s Republican leadership of tomorrow, so we are taking action today.

May God bless our state and nation,

Tres Wittum State Chairman of the TNCR
